From Application to Adventure: How to Apply for a Semester Abroad with EdOdyssey
So you’ve decided to study abroad for a semester? Exciting!
But where to begin?
It’s time to go through the application process. This might feel slightly daunting, but it doesn’t have to be, especially since our team is on hand to guide you through it.
Here’s a step-by-step guide to help you navigate the process quickly and smoothly:
STEP 1. CHOOSE YOUR LOCATION & LEARN MORE.
If you found us through your school’s Study Abroad Office, or while scrolling through GoOverseas or GoAbroad.com, you’ll end up here, on the Overview page of our semester programs section. This is exactly where you need to be. If you found us on Instagram or elsewhere, click that link now.
Here, you’ll find the program pages for each of our semester program destinations: Lima, Florence, and Fukuoka. On each of these pages, you can explore helpful information about the student experience, our academic partner where you’ll be studying, and information about how to apply. When you’re ready, tap the big “Request More Information” button located at the bottom of each page; you can’t miss it!
STEP 2. CHAT WITH AN EDODYSSEY ADVISOR.
The first step will be to send us your details here and connect with an EdOdyssey advisor. When you tap that “Request More Information” button, you’ll land here, on a page with a contact form. Send us your details and we’ll reach out shortly. We’ll plan an introductory chat to learn more about your academic and personal aspirations for studying abroad, make sure your school is in the loop with your plans, and ensure you’re on track for your ideal program.
STEP 3: SUBMIT YOUR APPLICATION.
Your advisor will send you a link to an application form. This is relatively quick to complete; just make sure you have all your relevant documents ready. Your advisor will inform you what you will need to have on hand in advance; the list is different for each location.
STEP 4. SECURE YOUR SPOT WITH A DEPOSIT & PREPARE FOR ADVENTURE!
After you’ve submitted your application and paid your deposit, the fun part begins: Preparing for your journey! Whether you choose to study abroad with us in Peru, Italy, or Japan, we set you up for success with robust support both before and after your arrival in-country, including culture guides to help you know what to expect and get settled, local support and meet-ups to help you build community, and included excursions and activities to help further immerse you in your new home for the semester.
