ABOUT THIS COUNTRY
Canada is a vast landscape stretching six time zones with a rich array of wildlife and vibrant, diverse cities and towns. Though Canada became self-governing in 1867, they did not become fully independent from the British Commonwealth until 1982. They have a parliamentary democracy and a constitutional monarchy, with a Prime Minister as the head of government. While many of the 10 provinces primarily speak English, Quebec primarily speaks French, with products and signs often being in both languages or only in French. While parts of Canada look a great deal like parts of the US, other parts of Canada look and feel more similar to Europe.
