Spring 2024 Weekend Excursions
WELCOME!
This spring, as part of the Northeastern University Global Scholars program, we’ve planned an excursion for you and your peers to explore the beautiful city of Burlington, Vermont. This unique trip and experience will help you discover a new part of New England and immerse yourself in the industry and culture of Vermont.
On Saturday, you will have the chance to learn about local ecology at the ECHO Museum, check out the local shops at Church Street Marketplace, and take a guided tour while trying some of Vermont’s world famous maple syrup at a local Sugar Shack! On Sunday, you will have the chance to visit the Ben and Jerry’s factory for a guided tour and stop at the Ice Castle displays on your way back to Boston.
We are offering the same trip on three different weekends in February. Learn about this trip below and then register for your preferred weekend. We can’t wait to meet and share Vermont with you!

Friday: Traveling from Boston to Burlington
Depart in the evening at 5:30 PM, arriving at the hotel for check in and relaxation time. Boxed dinners will be provided for the bus ride at check-in.
Saturday: Learn more about Vermont’s local flora and fauna and Sugarbushing industry
This day will be spent visiting the ECHO Museum in the morning, followed by free time to shop and explore at Church Street Marketplace, and ending with a guided tour and maple syrup product tasting at a local Sugar Shack!
Return to the hotel for relaxation time.
Sunday: Visit Ben & Jerry’s and the Ice Castles!
Take a guided tour of the Ben and Jerry’s Vermont factory.
Stop and visit the New Hampshire Ice Castles on the way back to Boston.
Return to Boston in the evening arriving around 5:30 PM.
