Spring 2024 Day Excursions
This spring, as part of the Northeastern University Global Scholars program, we’ve planned four exciting day excursions for you and your peers to help you discover a new part of New England and immerse yourself in the region’s history and culture.
Each excursion is typically 6-8 hours and includes lunch and snacks. Explore options and dates below!
Registration
IMPORTANT NOTE FOR STUDENTS: You may only register for ONE option.
We use a service called GroupCollect for all EdOdyssey registrations. To register, follow the steps below:
Find the trip you want to register for, and click the button below it.
Create a user profile on the GroupCollect page. If you already have an account, log in with your password.
Enter the required information for your trip.
That’s it! You will receive a registration confirmation email.
Get to know your fellow cohort members while enjoying one of Greater Boston’s biggest attractions - Patriot Place!
Spend the day exploring, shopping and participating in different activities on site in small groups. You will have the opportunity to choose one activity to participate in in the morning and afternoon!
Breakfast, lunch, and an afternoon snack will be provided!

Morning
Option 1: Patriots Hall of Fame
Option 2: Muse Paintbar
Option 3: Axe Throwing
Afternoon
Option 1: Showcase Cinema de Lux
Option 2: Splitsville Bowling
Option 3: Topgolf
Get to know your fellow Global Scholars while also exploring and learning about the impressive Gilded Age architecture, storied history, and culture of this unique coastal town in Rhode Island.

Morning
Depart campus at 9:00 AM
Breakfast pastries and hot drinks provided at check in.
Visit and take a guided audio tour at the Breakers Mansion.
Enjoy lunch at a local restaurant.
Afternoon
Choose Your Adventure Scavenger Hunt:
Continue to explore and shop in downtown Newport and discover other gilded age mansions on a self-guided scavenger hunt.
Return to campus by 5:30 PM
Interested in learning more about the coastal ecology of New Hampshire, both on land and in the ocean? This may be the excursion for you, then! In addition to learning more about the local flora and fauna, you’ll also have the opportunity to get to know more about the historic town of Portsmouth itself on this immersive day excursion!

Depart campus at 9:00 AM.
Visit the Seacoast Science Center and Odiorne Point State Park.
Enjoy lunch in downtown Portsmouth.
Afternoon
Take a tour at the historic Warner House.
Free time to explore and shop downtown.
Return to campus at 6:00 PM.
Looking for a break from the hustle and bustle of Boston? Join us on a day trip to beautiful Cape Cod, where you will have the opportunity to visit the historic seaside haven of Provincetown, take a guided tour of a local cranberry bog, learn about coastal ecology on the Cape, and have free time to explore one of the Cape’s best beaches!

Depart campus at 8 AM.
Breakfast pastries and hot drinks provided at check in.
Go on a self-guided group scavenger hunt in Provincetown, MA.
Enjoy lunch at The Canteen in Provincetown, MA.
Afternoon
Take a guided tour of a local cranberry bog in Harwich, MA.
Participate in a beach ecology lesson and have free time to explore at Red River Beach in Harwich, MA.
Return to campus at 7:00 PM.
