Katie Lorge

Katie has been an international educator for over 10 years. She had the amazing opportunity to participate in multiple enriching study abroad programs as a young adult and became passionate about facilitating similar experiences for others. As an undergraduate at the University of Illinois, Katie spent a semester in Valparaíso, Chile. The highlight of her time in Chile was living with a wonderful host family with whom she is still in contact today.

Katie went on to earn her MA in International Education and Training at American University in Washington, DC. She has worked in education abroad at four different institutions in Baltimore, Boston, and Chicago. She currently works remotely, based in Illinois.

In her free time, Katie is a gardener in training and loves reading, doing puzzles, being outside, and spending time with her family.

A Fun Fact About Katie:
I am really interested in health and wellness, and using food as medicine. I am a certified Nutritional Therapy Practitioner and have spent time working as a health coach.”

Katie’s Favorite Travel Memory:
It’s very difficult to choose a favorite travel memory! One of my cherished memories happened when I was staying in Puerto Natales, a tiny town in the very south of Chile. I met a person from Switzerland and we ended up having a barbecue with a couple from France. The only language we could all commonly speak was Spanish. It was so cool to be able to connect with people from different backgrounds at the very edge of the earth and find a way to communicate and share cultures.”
