SPRING 2024 WEEKEND EXCURSIONS

Monterey, California

 

This spring, as part of the Northeastern University Global Scholars program, we’ve planned an excursion for you and your peers to explore the beautiful Monterey Peninsula. This unique trip and experience will help you discover your surroundings and immerse yourself in this unique California coastal environment.

On Saturday you will have the chance to learn about local marine life at the Monterey Bay Aquarium and you will get to see the coast from 17 Mile Drive and visit one of the area’s most popular beaches. On Sunday you will have the chance to see Monterey from the water, while taking a whale watching tour!

We are offering the same trip on four different weekends in January and February. Learn about this trip below and then register for your preferred weekend. We can’t wait to meet you and share Monterey with you!

Excursion Dates

*Important Note for Students: Each weekend itinerary is the same. You may only register for ONE option!*

  • OPTION 1: Friday Jan 12 - Sunday Jan 14

  • OPTION 2: Friday Feb 2 - Sunday Feb 4

  • OPTION 3: Friday Feb 9 - Sunday Feb 11

  • OPTION 4: Friday Feb 23 - Sunday Feb 25

  • Friday: Traveling from Oakland to Monterey

    • Depart in the evening at 7:00 PM, arriving at the hotel for check in and relaxation time.

    Saturday: Learn more about Monterey’s local flora and fauna - both on land at in the sea!

    • This day will be spent visiting the Monterey Bay Aquarium, free time to shop and explore on Cannery Row, and going on a scenic ride along 17 Mile Drive where you will stop and explore at a famous lookout point and Carmel Beach before sunset.

    • Return to the hotel for dinner, icebreaker games, and relaxation time.

    Sunday: See Monterey and Whale Watch on the Water!

    • Take a 3 hour whale watching tour in and around Monterey Bay.

    • Enjoy a picnic lunch at the beach after returning from your whale watching tour.

    • Return to Oakland in the afternoon. Arriving by 4:00 PM.

We use a service called GroupCollect for all EdOdyssey registrations. To register, follow the steps below:

  1. Click the button for the option you want below.

  2. Create a user on the GroupCollect page. If you already have a user, log in with your password.

  3. Enter the required information for your trip.

  4. That’s it! You will receive a registration confirmation email.
